Project Green Ljubljana is the answer of finding new ways of coexistence, decision-making and local community development by involving the citizens. The project begins in Ljubljana as co-creator of Ljubljana as Green Capital of Europe. With the project we want to empower young people, especially those unemployed. Within the project we will use the methodology of Appreciative Inquiry, which will enable young people to generate ideas through implementation of interviews with the agents of change that will be detected in Ljubljana.
In the phase of development of generated ideas we will support them with training From idea to realization. Young people will be mentoring to work on ideas and 10 most promising ideas will be awarded by the expert committee with financial support. Through the realization of ideas, young people will have opportunity to create their own job or get the job with support of mentors.
The project aims to co-create social innovation to tackle youth unemployment, global migration, environmental issues and culture. By the end of the project we plan to publish the book about our project as a good practice example to encourage other Slovenian cities that embraced this model.
In the project we cooperate with the Association of moderators Slovenia, Ljubljana City Museum, public institute Young Dragons, Student initiative Pogovorjevalnice, association NO excuse Slovenia and Municipality of Ljubljana.
