Online EAF event

The fourth EAF event was implemented online from 25th to 28th March 2024. It brought together media and policy experts, youth educators, and young people to enable them to explore the fake news phenomenon and the dangers it poses to public discourse and democratic processes.

Besides the lectures on online disinformation, this event also contained an interactive part within which participants drafted creative and engaging memes that showcased and debunked discourses behind some of the most widespread fake news related to 4 thematic units of the project:

  • Climate Cha(lle)nge,
  • Fundamental rights in the time of COVID-19,
  • Migration – the hometown of disinformation, and
  • Euroscepticism as a democratic barrier.

The memes created within this event will be published in a virtual exhibition on the website www.europeansagainstfake.news. The exhibition is available to all people willing to learn how to address fake news.
