Young Europe – Rethinking Democracy - 25 Years After the Fall of the Berlin Wall

25.09.2014

The Fall of the Berlin Wall brought about extensive political changes in Europe. The young generation especially ought to learn about, and experience democracy and participation, tolerance and diversity, as well as convey the values of democracy in Europe, in order to defy extreme and anti-democratic arguments.

The "Young Europe – Rethinking Democracy" project has brought together young people from the 28 EU member states to discuss the development of democracy in the past, present and future. Workshops were implemented on the train, following the route Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Berlin. As an important outcome of the project, we created the "Young Europe- Rethinking Democracy" declaration.
