Nestled in the heart of Ljubljana, our team is turning the city into into vibrant learning ecosystem. Our work, deeply rooted in   <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ljubljana.cityoflearning.eu\/\"><b>the Ljubljana City of Learning<\/b><\/a><b>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been instrumental in promoting and implementing digital recognition solutions &#8211; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citiesoflearning.net\/digital-open-badges\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Badges<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; digital certificates that validate learning and achievements both locally and internationally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imagine earning a digital badge for every new skill you learn or achievement you unlock. That&#8217;s what Open Badges are all about. They&#8217;re like your personal digital trophy case, showcasing your learning journey. However, despite the detailed data embedded within each badge, we&#8217;ve identified a critical obstacle &#8211;   <\/span><b> not everyone recognizes these badges, especially in formal education and job sectors.<\/b><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, we rolled up our sleeves and came up with a solution &#8211; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/badgequalitylabel.net\/en\/activities\/18546\"><b>the Quality Label for Open Badges<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Born from countless cups of coffee and brainstorming sessions, this project is all about setting a shared quality standard and procedures for badge issuers, their badging activities, and the badges they issue. Think of it as a seal of trust, making badges more reliable for skill certification. <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Quality Label project aligns with the latest developments in the Youthpass and recognition strategy at the European level. It echoes the Council of the European Union&#8217;s recommendations from June 2022, recognizing the diversity of micro-credentials and tools for non-formal learning recognition. Through this project, we are encouraging the development, implementation, and recognition of micro-credentials across institutions, businesses, sectors, and borders.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project&#8217;s objectives are clear and ambitious. We aim to establish an agreed quality standard for Open Badges issuers to promote better quality and wider recognition of learning activities and outcomes. The project will result in several new outcomes, including:  <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the mapping of good practices in the validation and recognition of non-formal learning and youth work services;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">developing countries-specific &amp; a shared European badge recognition strategies;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">developing and and piloting the Quality Label standard and procedures for Badge Issuers, implementing the technical solution to use the Quality Label on the Cities of Learning platform;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">developing the capacity of youth work providers to meet the Quality Label for badge recognition standard.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><b>The Quality Label for Open Badges promises substantial benefits. It&#8217;s designed to:  <\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attract and capture learners&#8217; attention;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Communicate the quality of learning activities;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bring transparency, clarity, and trust to Open Badges recognition;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus, it can boost career development and job search, setting a quality standard for recognition at all levels<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This project is a team effort. brought to life by a consortium of dedicated partners. These include   <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ourbreakthrough.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breakthrough<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the Netherlands, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.assonur.org\/sito\/en\/nur\/storia2\/ing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assonur Association (NUR)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Sardinia, Italy, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nectarus.lt\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nectarus<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Lithuania, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.balkanideans.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BINS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Serbia, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nexescat.org\/home-1\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nexes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Spain. Each partner brings unique expertise and perspective, contributing to the richness and diversity of the project. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project \u201cQuality Label for Open\u201d is funded by the European Union through the ERASMUS+ programme. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This backing underscores the project&#8217;s alignment with European standards and its commitment to fostering learning and development across borders.
